Abstract

The increasingly rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) marked by the presence of internet media (new-media) has made it easier for people to disseminate and receive information without being bound by national borders in the international scope. Now humans live in practicality considering that modern communication facilities to support all activities are available, even the presence of internet media is able to provide data on various kinds of information, starting from politics, economics, social, culture and so on, simply through search engines (search engines) so that the information available needed will be obtained. Interaction between internet users, information transactions and information dissemination are easy to do, without having to leave the house which of course requires other supporting facilities so it is less efficient in terms of time, energy and increases costs. With the presence of smartphones with various features, the search for information has become more complete, whether in the form of text, images, photos, audio, even streaming video. Photos and video clips recorded from camera cellphones can be sent to various social media platforms and to other cellphones quickly. The information gap is increasingly being eroded, interaction between users is increasing and the reach is wider. But on the other hand, it is necessary to understand that the presence of internet media with its offer or choice of various sites and freedom of access is like a double-edged sword, on the one hand it can have a positive impact and on the other hand it can have a negative impact.
